About Bridges

I'm a fourth-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Arizona State University, and I co-facilitate Bridges sessions. One of my favorite things about the Bridges program is seeing how much parents grow and gain confidence with each session. Bridges provides a supportive community that not only encourages parents but also empowers them to feel more confident in their parenting and stay connected with their teens. My favorite skills are Breathe to Focus, Good Listening, and Coach for Problem Solving. Together, these skills help parents center themselves, connect with their teens in ways that make them feel comfortable opening up, and support their teens in developing strong problem-solving skills.

I'm a 4th year clinical psychology PhD student at ASU. I co-facilitate the Bridges program in schools across the Phoenix area. One of my favorite things about the Bridges program is that it allows for parents to come together, learn from one another, and create a supportive community. I have loved seeing how empowering and impactful Bridges is for parents and families as a whole. My favorite skills include good listening, coach for problem solving, and catch 'em doing good. These skills really allow for parents to connect with their teens and help teens feel more comfortable opening up to their parents. I look forward to meeting more parents and families through our future programs!

I'm a second-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Arizona State University. I'm excited to be joining Bridges as a facilitator this fall! I'm looking forward to seeing the positive impact the program has on caregivers and their children, and to building meaningful connections with everyone involved.

I'm a third-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Arizona State University. I facilitate the Bridges program and assist with program coordination to help bring Bridges your school. My favorite part of Bridges is getting to know the caregivers and supporting them in developing skills that promote positive change within their families. I also appreciate how the program creates opportunities for caregivers to connect with one another, share experiences, and support each other in their parenting journeys. My favorite Bridges skill is summarizing, and I use it all the time in sessions!

I'm an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina, and I really believe in the Bridges skills, and I love hearing the creative ways that parents find to work the skills into their daily lives. One parent said she taught her entire family about Breathe to Focus, and their family started using it together every day to wind down. Genius! Bridges really gives parents a space for their ideas and problem-solving to shine.

I’m an assistant professor at ASU and I lead the Engaging Families Lab that brings the Bridges program to your school. My favorite thing about Bridges is that it gives parents strategies to help their teens make better, wiser decisions and learn to eventually handle challenges on their own. I love seeing families grow stronger through the program! Fun fact-- I use a lot of the Bridges skills in my own life and they’ve helped me be a better leader for my team!
